Severe storms possible in Alabama this week in advance of a strong cold front
A strong cold front will move into Alabama this week bringing numerous thunderstorms between Wednesday and Thursday. The SPC highlights a risk of severe storms for north and central Alabama. Heat and humidity will help fuel a chance of hefty afternoon downpours almost every day this week. We do not expect widespread storms until Wednesday.
WEATHER NOW: Severe weather chances in place back-to-back days this coming week
Rain to start today and drier by this afternoon, but storms arrive again late tonight going into tomorrow morning. Temperatures once again rise into the 80s early this coming week ahead of a large system that will produce some active weather across the country.
